Not the most exciting track, but a fairly easy track that rewards you with good views of Mount Cook and Mount Sefton. On a clear day it's a total delight, otherwise cloud cover could ruin the views for you. Personally I preferred the Hooker Valley...More

The track is a relatively easy one (1 hour return) and the elevation increases slowly from the start point to the viewing point. I started from the car park (not from the village), and it's a long walk with no views along the way. At...More

A short two hour walk from Hermitage hotel, the ground is mostly flat with a slight uphill near the end. The view is great, giving you some close up shots of the glaciers. Try to go earlier in the morning to catch the beautiful view...More

The walk is pleasant, mostly on flat surface and only with some minor hill hiking. The scenery is amazing, and impactful as to how much the glaciers have retreated over the years, get there before the glacier is gone.

This was one of our favorite hikes at Mt Cook National Park. The trail was fairly level and gives you great views of the mountains (weather permitting!) We enjoyed not only the hike but being able to meet people from around the world.

As a fit person, one way from Mount Cook Village only took me 35 minutes including photo stops. I walked it in the early morning (departed around 7am) and as there were no other people yet it was a peaceful walk in beautiful nature. I...More

There is a small platform at the end of this walk. After doing the Hooker Valley track this is easier and shorter. On a clear day you can get a reflection of the top of Mount Cook in the small lake here. It is a...More

Did the walk in the evening when the day visitors had left. Met only a couple of people so able to enjoy Mount Cook and surrounding mountains in solitude. An easy fairly level path but rough underfoot at times. Saw some birds preparing to settle...More
