Came here to see the cherry blossoms and wasn't disappointed. Will come again next year. Check the various local websites for the timing as the season is very weather dependent.

In addition to the open spaces, botanical garden, and ancient imperial grounds, there is often a local festival or celebration going on. Uniquely, there is a small burial ground where a small family of Tanukis (Racoon Dogs) live that not even the locals know about!

Beautiful park, one of the best in the "Osaka" area. The flower garden requires to pay a ticket. There are just a couple of restaurants and cafés so I am not sure it's easy to have a good coffee, but the town is not far....More

The park itself is very common park, but very beautiful and maintained. It has many things to do and see around it like Sakai museum, Japanese garden, etc which a very good, relaxed day in sakai (-:
