I visited Olappamanna Manna last November, and returned in February to experience a number of festivals in a nearby town. The host told me each day the best time to be at that day's festival and what to look for. He was right every time. They all involved elephants either as a deity represented on a float or an actual... More

Worth the visit, especially in the evenings when religious rituals are conducted. There is a small temple with an interesting origin. Classes are held for children learning to play the Chanda (a type of drum) and sing, that is worth watching. Note the carvings on the wooden beams of the roof.

It was the greatest homestay while traveling in India. Best food ever, nice hosts, wonderful place. The area has lots of fruits, ricefields and wild peacocks. It's pure natural. We had a big bedroom and a small sweet bathroom. Book this homestay If you wanna see the real indian life.

This is not a place for tourists. This is not a place for fun. This is not a place for indulgence in the artificiality of life. BUT... This is a place for your mind and your body to relax and rejuvenate in the surroundings of a yet to be "polluted to the hilt" village and its centuries old traditions and... More

Spending time with the hosts who welcomed us into their special home and fed us the most delicious vegetarian food. Seeing the Hindu ritual, and attending a local elephant temple festival. Mr Damodaran suggested lots of interesting activities such as a visit to some local weavers! and was also extremely helpful when we needed to book our onward travel. The... More

Our hosts were most welcoming.Mrs damodaran cooked a variety of delicious Keralan meals for us to taste, whilst Mr Damodaran was an encyclopedia of knowledge as he showed us around the forest garden and heritage builing where we were priveleged to discretely watch sacred rituals being performed. With comfortable quiet rooms to stay in our stay was very fulfilling.
