some years ago i visited this place and it was a hive of activity. I do not think the upkeep is great now and I was disappointed with my last visit

Good day out quite educational, not a full day like just a hour or two of things to do and see. Good trip for townies that wouldn't be used to a bog etc

Great surprise at how good this place is. It's old and run down but the kids loved the hands on activities and all the nature on show. Lots of fun learning. The newt farm was great.

As a kid I’d haul wheelbarrows of turf from my grandda’s shed, up the drive and into the house, where the range burned with the unmistakable smell of smokey turf. Uneven bricks of brown earth interlaced with ancient wood, turf has been the fuel to...More

If you are looking for something not so mainstream to do in Ireland, then this is something you should consider. The staff do a good job teaching about the importance of bogs in Irish culture.

I had little time so this was an interesting nature center to look into. Fascinating information about the bog, peat, peat fires and a beautiful greenhouse. It's down a ways in the list of things to do but I'd highly recommend it!
