The place is beautiful. I would not call it a hike, it's more of a walk, although you climb a lot of stairs and it can get a bit frustrating for the children (ours are 8 and 11 yo and they survived). You have to...More

This doesn’t sound like a strenuous hike on paper but the staircases will give you a workout. Start at that end and take a cab back. It’s a beautiful hike with stunning scenery at every turn. There is a swimming area about midway and a...More

Excellent trekking trail, along the Paiva river. Almost the entire trail is on a wooden path, built on the mountain side. Best to avoid the summer months, as it has become very popular. The official site is very useful, look it up.

We went on a slightly cloudy day in early September. There isn't much shade so on a sunny summer day it would be hot. The path is in excellent condition and whilst there are a few sections with a lot of steps overall its pretty...More

This is a great attraction for people who like walking. You need about four hours for walking all the way (stopping and admiring the nature); when you finish you can take a taxi which drives you back to the place where you’ve parked your car....More

You need your own car unfortunately, it's at least an hour from Porto and is very much in the middle of no where!
