This is a little more sheltered than tynemouth longsands. There are a series of benches set on one flight of steps down, which are not immediately apparent unless you peer over the rail on the pavement. Its rather nice to sit and take in the...More

This is a beautiful stretch of Tynemouth coast, just up from Whitley Bay but nowhere near as crowded. Nestling in the shadow of the Priory and Castle it is very sheltered and peaceful. Lots of room to run about for the little ones even on...More

Just love this place, especially in the Winter or at sunset. Very popular with locals and tourists from near and far. Steeped in history is Tynemouth - just keep walking around and reading the Blue Plaques!

This is a gorgeous, sheltered beach providing safe bathing for adults and children. It is extremely clean. Riley's Fish Shack is tucked under the cliffs and the food justifies the queue.

Yes you can, although you'd need a sea fishing licence. A quick google can bring up many angling clubs who share advice on fishing in this area.
