Walked down gravel path and found this pleasant small pond. A nice place to meditate and de-stress as you will find yourselves to be only one there.

It's a pond... That's about it. Supposedly great for bird watching, but other than that, not much to say.

Nothing Major but a nice little part of the North/Middle Caicos Tour. Here is my breakdown. Take the ferry from Provo. Rent a jeep. Drive around Middle and North Caicos. In total, we checked out the following on our half day trip Cottage pond - interested fresh water pond with salt water deeper down. Spend about 5 minutes here (right... More

Charming perfect round natural pond. However it's very overgrown and sadly one assumes it doesn't get enough visitors to warrant clearing the bush or maybe building a swimming place. The water is clean but suspect only the local kids would swim there (apart from the natural swimming aficionados amongst you). Beware the mosquitoes and for those who are stupid the... More

The upside of Cottage Pond is that, relative to many other sights on North Caicos, it is relatively easy to find. It looks like a stereotypical swimming hole albeit one that I would not trust that the water is clean enough to swim in.

The road to the pond was bad, and I mean VERY bad. Be sure to stop in time as you could easily find yourself on the lip of the pond. It was interesting to see and note that the pond was formed by small fisures in the rocks which allowed sea water to seep in. Worth a little stop, although... More

It's interesting once you know the story of Cottage Pond. It's quite beautiful, and chattering playful Lesser Grebes are fun to watch. it's a good place to spend 30 minutes to an hour.

What is great here is you don't appreciate what you're seeing. Go see it, try to figure out what you're looking at and then google it later. You'll be glad you saw it once u know what you saw.

I am totally for eco tourism but this site, besides its local legend, is not worth more than 2 pictures. North and Middle Caicos visit in one day will take you a lot of time, so you can skip this site. Trust me. And you better have a good jeep and be a great driver to come in and get... More
