My review is not about the products that this shop sells, as they are truly magnificent and sell themselves BUT we nearly didn’t sample the black pudding, 6 cheeses, crackers, coriander pesto, pickles (several hundred $ worth) because the woman behind the counter was so flippin rude and discourteous. Honestly if I had not been with my beautiful friend who had worked so hard to make my first trip to New Zealand a wonderful experience, I would have dropped the basket and left.
It left a bitter taste handing over so much money to this woman and I also wondered if all New Zealanders were that rude. THANKFULLY they are NOT.

I'm really perplexed as to why this has happened (Maybe the coffee and food part is now operated by a new crew).
We have stopped here numerous times before, there is a dining room (where you can look into the cheese making room and browse the second-hand books and nic nacs), they have a cheese counter and have cheeses for sale, shelves are stocked with deli type goods. I was sooo looking forward to our stop here for the (ex) delicious cheese scone and a cuppa so imagine my disappointment when we rocked up to the counter to find that they only served it as takeaway (paper cup, scone in bag, not cutlery/plate) NOT THE SAME!!! and I guess lots of others that used to come by have thought the same as while we stayed to drink our tea from paper cups and eat the scone from the paper bag, nobody else did (the dining room was empty).. It was definitely quieter than usual, apart from the scones (which was okay in flavour but lacked butter and was very crumbly, doughy and not heated up properly, cold in the middle). there was no other food offerings, in the past, there was cheese mac and possibly a cheese toastie but not nay more.
I wonder if they are considering exiting the cafe offering as it may not have made any $$'s. .
After our visit today, won't be doing it again. The Scottish lass was not exactly the friendly hospitable type either, she was just doing her job but nothing about todays experience makes me want to return. Gutted as I had planned my morning around the scone and a cuppa on the way up to Yrap. and the scone while a decent size was $6.50! Nah!

Had to get some supplies from This place after having a delicious cheese board at Brac & Bow across the road. Lots of options and the truffle Brie was yum!

Had coffee and a cheese scone at C'est Cheese today. Two choices. Blue cheese or extra tasty. We opted for the extra tasty and I shared it with my husband as it was big enough for two.
It was perfection. The best cheese scone I've ever had.
Tres bon!

We just stopped here for a coffee/hot chocolate on a cold Saturday afternoon, but also browsed the shop a little. There is some interesting deli related tasty stock in C'est Cheese. If you are looking for a different cheese certainly the place to go. Worth a stop if you are passing through Featherston.
