What a magnificent historic and functional structure. We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon when very few other people were touring the property. The lighthouse is part of a historic group of buildings erected in the late 1800s, including three lightkeepers' houses, a building designated solely to the history of lighthouse lights, a generator building which houses World War II artifacts... This is a very good way to get a little exercise, see an amazing panoramic view of the ocean and inlet, all while learning interesting historical facts about an adorable, amazing lighthouse.

Very beautiful excursion to make to Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse. I went on a Sunday, and it was not crowded. Very beautiful staircase to the top, 204 steps up, 204 steps down. Quite a view! The museum is very interesting, well put together to understand the history meaning of the lighthouse and the area. It is kept immaculate!! Worth... More

About 200 stairs up with a landing between each 22, so it's doable if you take your time! The view was beautiful. The museum was very nice - very interesting history in each building. And of course, the lighthouse is GORGEOUS - this is absolutely one of my favorite lighthouses (I've seen many!).

Very fun and interesting place to explore. The climb up the lighthouse steps is arduous but well worth the view for miles in all directions. Lots to learn about lighthouse technology on the cutting edge of physics in its time.

Very well kept lighthouse and grounds. Like all climbable lighthouses, has an exercise element to it. Over 200 steps and slightly narrow steps compared to others. BUT, it is well worth the effort to get atop this brick beacon. Great views!

Lovely grounds and buildings. Superb views of the surrounding area from the top of the lighthouse. However, some personal contact with real people (local history buffs and/or volunteers within the various buildings of the museum itself) would enhance the experience and offset the cost of admission. As informative as the signage and audio displays were it was disappointing to view... More

We enjoyed an afternoon here, it is well worth the stop. The views from the lighthouse are amazing. It is 203 steps to the top. Some young children were scared of the steep steps and height, but our 6 and 8 year old children did just fine. There are several buildings on the property with historic displays and a lot... More

The $7 admission fee was a bit steep for this place. The "museums" are a few older building with lighthouse lens and houses of the time. Only one is actually set up so you can see how people actually lived during that time. The other houses are quite bare with only a few items to look at in case &... More

Such a beautiful place to visit for all family members. For those that are in poor health unable to climb the stairs to the top their is a park with benches and bathrooms that you can sit and enjoy while the rest of your group explore. I notice with every visit bathrooms and grounds are always well cleaned and kept
