Rushen Abbey was gifted by King Olaf I for use as a monastery in 1134. Today the remains of the Abbey sit in the peace of the Abbey Gardens. The Abbey tells its story from medieval times to the present day and includes a great range of interactive activities for visitors of all ages.

the site of the abbey has a visitor centre which tells the history of rushen abbey there are interactives for all ages so it makes an ideal family outing well worth a visit

Lovely grounds any time of the year. Indoor museum and tea room too. Special events. The "Tempest" outdoors was ama,Inc, despite showers!

Absolutely loved there was lots of activities for children young/old or grown up but still enjoy the simple things.There was a dressing up box ,my son dressed as a monk(he's 20!)

There is nothing really there. The visitor centre has more to see than the site. Just a few bits of ruins to see. There is not even a cafe.
