This large beach offers a wonderful area in between the ocean and the pine forest. There’s a large parking area (nevertheless it’s wise to come early during summer vacations). Then you can swim (if you like waves), walk or play on the beach. There’re a handful of WW II German bunkers that slid from the top of the sand dune into the sea.

On a Sunday weekend this area would be rammed with people and you can squeeze on the beach if you wish. Off season it is perfect and walking along the coastal edge is a must.

This has been our favourite for the past 40 odd years and we still love it. There is so much to do and see and so many places to eat and drink, that really it would take a few days or 40 years to enjoy it thoroughly. We came camping in the early 70's after I had seen it portrayed in a French gangster film on BBc2 late and thought I must go and see that. We camped in Pont LAbbe and travelled down every other day and we kept coming over the years, one of us even bought a house near there but then Vaux is something else. I can only recommend this to you.
