Beautiful Green Train Ride

This was a slow placed train from Curitiba to Morretes. There is so much greeenery on the way and the food up there in the Morretes was worth the journey.

Beautiful train ride! We went from Curitiba to Morretes and it took about 3 hours. It was a fun activity for the kids (we had several ages) and an amazing picture op for the adults! Highly recommend it! Be sure to arrive for lunch in Morretes and try a Barreado, traditional Brazilian stew.

The train is very slow and the ride from Curitiba takes around 3 to 3hours and half, but it's amazing experience to view one of the beautiful landscapes! There is some packages that you can choose, we opted to go to Morretes by train and return by mini bus via Estrada da Graciosa. There have some stops in the small... More

The railway was exactly the same built two centuries ago. Historically it's quite nice 'cause you're able to see how it used to be on that time. But they still use the same slow, old and uncomfortable locomotives. They are really old and simply doesn't work as well as they used to. Furthermore, you pay for a very expensive ticket... More

Besides the Niemeyer museum we had no other reason for coming to Curitiba. The idea of nostalgic train ride through mountains and impressive scenery appealed to us. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal and because of the rain visibility was at time poor because of which we missed some of the more stunning valleys. That said it was still a... More

The train trip is beautiful but you must do it in a sunny day, otherwise you can see very feel of the wonderful sightseen because of fog. Goes very slow and I don't recommend it for impatient children, they feel a bit bored.

It is true that you want to sit on the left side of the train. Tell the person you buy your ticket from that you want to sit on the left. They will tell you that the seats are 'randomly assigned' but I reckon if they are available and you're nice they put you there. However, don't feel like if... More

I took the train by myself to get in touch with nature. It's one of the most beautiful trips I have ever done. The trains rails defy nature and it can be scary because at some point of the trip there are precipices next to the railroad which makes it thrilling. If you are in Curitiba this trip is a... More

I come back to Curitiba with the train and after talking to other friends who have done this travel I came to the conclusion that it is better to go by train and come back by bus. When you come back by train it´s not good because you travel backwards what makes it difficult to see all the beauty. The guide... More
