Algonquin is beautiful serenity. Quiet, peaceful and pictures don't do it justice. It reminded my husband and I a lot of the East coast.
There are trails for all different levels. The trails we explored were very well marked and not busy. The little guide books at each trails make for a great keepsake and tell you about the history of the area and what you are seeing as you hike.
Highly recommend if you have an opportunity to explore this amazing place.

I have been visiting for years, in fact since I was about 2. Sadly when fall rolls around the park looks crazier than Toronto after the leafs made it through the first playoff round. Between all the busses and cars it can be quite challenging to drive on through. I love and appreciate this park during every other time of year but when the fall colour come out its game over. People like to think it is acceptable to pull over on the top of a hill and stand in the middle of the road to take a picture of a tree. If this is you simply go on a hike I promise you will see even more trees! I would also love to give a nice shoutout to the wonderful person who rents potapotties each year just outside the park as the line to get in is INSANE. I recommend this park any other time of year.

Visiting in winter, and driving along highway 60, we were pleasantly surprised at how smooth the roads were and also amazingly well cleared of snow. The snow was so pristine it felt like a winter wonderland. Loved the Loggers museum hike. Actually made us enjoy winter again! As soon as we exited the park the roads felt bumpy again, like in Toronto :(

Racist Park Wardens made us feel like we were criminals for having a simple dollar store crank radio only used for keeping track of the weather because there is no cell reception in the park. We are never going back and encourage others to avoid this place.

You can never predict wildlife but we had an amazing time - saw river otter, moose, and heard howling wolves!

lot to see and do for the outdoors person. You could easily do a different hike everyday. Interesting places to lunch. Highly recommend the harbour in Huntsville

I love Algonquin Park in all seasons but really enjoy it in late autumn and winter when the crowds are gone and you can really enjoy being outside in nature. It is just spectacular. We watched a young beaver just off Opeongo Road and had a read squirrel dance around our feet on the Spruce Bog walk. The chickadees will come right to you if you bring some seed.

I say quaint because it is small compared to other parks I have visited. This park is very easy to get around and offers what a larger parks offers. The trails were well kept and each had a booklet to tell the story of each trail which was very helpful and fun. We never saw a moose, which was disappointing!
I will defiantly come back!

This is a wonderful escape from everything - lush greenery, endlos options for paddling and numerous sites for camping where you can be on your own on an island or a peninsula. To our pleasant surprise, even in mid-August there were not too many boats around, especially in the part from Whitney. Rock Lake is somewhat more popular as the camping site is a good starting point, but if you want to enjoy some solitude you should avoid it.

We visited Algonquin Park as part of a holiday birthday celebration. It was beyond my expectations. We skied some of the best trails in Ontario - it was easy to find one just right for what we wanted. The first day we did a challenging 17km loop that offered amazing scenery and just the right amount of ups and downs. The next day we picked a shorter loop that also offered a completely different experience - fast and fun. The wood fire warmed cabins were a perfect place to refuel, check out the park chickadees and bask in the beauty of the place. Thanks to all the staff who lovingly maintain and keep the park so beautiful! Unforgettable.
