Of the cellar doors that we visited in Waipara, Waipara Springs has some really impressive wines at exceptional price points. Their Dry Riesling is very very good. Bought a 2010 Dry Riesling and a 2009 Premo Dry Riesling to take home. Super friendly cellar door staff. They even bubblewrapped the wines for us.

On our way back to Christchurch, we stopped by this winery, mid afternoon. Lovely Shayla our server was very attentive and helped us decide on the best wines for us. We settled on a taster sampling of 5 wines for $6 each. Jill, the gracious owner sat down at our table to discuss her winery and the strides they have... More

Stopped with some friends while on a road trip and shared a platter and some coffees. The platter was very well presented. It had a good selection of hot and cold food. The mushrooms, sausage and asparagus where all great. Setting was relaxing under the umbrellas on the lawn. Staff very attentive.

Pouring with rain on a bleak June day in Canterbury but saved by this impressive building and the ambience of Waipara Springs Winery. A grand building with lovely gardens and very good food, young but helpful staff. You really wouldn't know you were 100m from State Highway 1. Recommended

Went here today to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed. Stunning weather, stunning location, stunning food & they had put a little bunch of roses on the table for us. We had the seafood platter which was one of the best platters we have ever had as it wasn't full of deep fried seafood but beautiful prawns,... More

What a great spot for a relaxing break. Wine tasting and food were great and it did not break the bank. Informal and hospitable and the wines were some of the best we have found in NZ. It's a must if your passing through this region.

We had a stroll through the vineyard after our wine tasting session with the friendly staff. We plan to visit again as we liked it.
