A sad and lonely ghost town this place is. Terrible feel to it. Eerie atmosphere. Obviously badly affected by Covid - empty shops all closed down, decor dated, deteriorating structures. The shops that are left appear struggling, very frumpy old fashion. Nothing to see here, give this precinct a miss. Don’t waste your time. Very sad as it’s said to have been beautiful and thriving once upon a time. We visited mid week expecting something fabulous only to find a quiet forgotten about place. Left after 20 mins, straight to Pacific Fair.
Horrible run down Thailand type shops next door, need knocking down, no one around. Derelict old hogs breath cafe next door too.
Waste of time.

Stay away from mirage Boat Hire. They pretend to be friendly but are the nastiest bunch (at least the owner), tries to intimidate guests and threatened to "step
outside to sort it out". Not a good experience!

I rented a boat for our function and was half an hour late. I offered to pay for the time I was late, and got a torrent of abuse and threats for having made his skipper wait around. I then offered to pay an extra good will amount and was spat at, and told to [--] off with my money, and to take it outside if I didn't like it??! I promptly left...

Great shopping area down by the water. But its basically deserted due to Covid. But due to this there are some great bargains to be had. We scored a leather jacket reduced from $350 to $99.

This is a big sale month so that you can see 30-50% off everywhere in the shopping mall. Many restaurants and resting space inside the mall, visitors can enjoy happy shopping here.

Marina Mirage is the only shopping centre on the Gold Coast for luxury shopping. With independent boutiques stocking variety of high-end international and Australian fashion brands, as well as brand stores like Hermes or Zimmerman, it's surprising the centre is never too busy. Palazzo Versace hotel and Sheraton Mirage are adjacent to the centre. I love waterfront restaurants Glass and Omeros Brothers, and crowd's favorites Sushi Train and Max Brenner. Plenty of parking in the basement (free). The centre often runs free concerts on weekends. Lovely destination to visit.

Plenty of variety with the shops, top quality, great restaurants and good cafes. All fairly expensive - probably why it doesn't ever seem to be busy.

Rubbish, utter rubbish. No idea what half the shops are - needs to be shut down. The best thing about it is the McDonalds.

So very sad to see what once was a great spot to shop and dine is like a ghost town. Do hope that somehow life can be brought back after Covid.
Thank goodness for Omeros to enjoy fabulous food and service. For shopping there are still a couple of delightful shops but not many.
Do hope this is revived somehow.

Is there a grocery shop or bottle shop?
Written January 30, 2019
No There isn't. Take comfort in the knowledge that there are excellent licensed restaurants all around you. You won't have to think too hard and certainly don't have to carry anything with you.
