Went on a brewery tour and Dave was great and gave so much information.
Dark Helmet is addictive and also the IPA is so aromatic and flavoursome.. on tour we got a free beer can to walk around with and also after the tour a tasting paddle so I think it is great value for money. And also a stubby holder for free.

It was a great experience, we went for the beer but the experience was beyond our expectations.
The beer on tap was excellent, definitely one of my favorites. I even brought some cans all the way back to Peru.
The staff was very nice and friendly. We had some great burgers from the food truck...and they even had a vegetarian burger for me!
Finally, my kids were amazed with what they saw from the brewery! Definetely worth going and enjoying some of the best beer.

We have been to the Balter Brewing Company a number of times now. Every time has been a great time shared with friends while enjoying wonderful beer and sometimes live music.

In the area on Saturday arvo so went to try the new brew - Hazy IPA.
Not on tap!!!
What sort of brewhouse is it that reserves a few taps for the "core range of beers" and offers poncy rubbish in the other taps?
Oh, well, just stay with my tins of Sierra Navada Hazy IPA.

I was introduced to Balter around three years ago on an visit to Currumbin on an annual GC trip with friends. I thought it then and I believe it now - the Balter XPA is potentially the best beer in Australia.
Living in Newcastle, I’ve watched Balter taps slowly spread pop up throughout any pub that’s worth its while, and I recommend it proudly to friends who’ve only heard good things.
Called in again this afternoon after flying up for the weekend - yet another 10/10. The venue, the vibe, the staff and the fitout all compliment the beer and what the boys have achieved - potentially the best brewhouse in Aus. Also notable, tried the Saison, a refreshing drop, finishing up with Captain Sensible.

A great little brewery that is growing fast!
Great brews with delicious food trucks. If you're lucky to get Notorious E.A.T. try the 'Return of the mac'!
Beer wise, can't go past the Little Miss Sunshine, but the XPA is great too.
Make the trip!

I wrote several months ago that Balter appeared to be heading in the right direction.
Sadly, it seems, they have lost their way.
Without doubt Balter's XPA is a stand-out winner. Few other breweries can match the goodies that Balter has harnessed with their XPA. Great flavour, right amount of head and a good colour.
But, that's about it. The dark is average, the Pilsener fails to shine, and...
The various other offerings fall flat. The SPA just doesn't cut it. It's sort of like a craft version of VB!
Perhaps the oddest 'initiative' is the Chrissy release of an IIPA!
Without doubt, SE QLD craft brewers have carved out a special segment - the Session IPA. A hop bursting, well bittered IPA with an alcohol content at or below 5%.
Balter has yet to join this trend. I was looking forward to a summer release of a Session IPA. A high alcohol content IIPA for summer just doesn't make sense.

If your into craft beers, you must do this place. Check the website for opening times, but in short Friday 3pm - 9pm.
Being a Balter fan, I was hanging to visit their brewery at Currumbin just over the border from NSW.
This place is just class all the way, the industrial building, tables, taps and brewing kettles. If you like hops, these beers are the best, hell there’s even a non alcoholic hop soda.
When in Currumbin, do Balter!

I wanted to swing past Balter Brewing due to their XPA (4th) and Alt Brown (98th) making the Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers list for 2016.
I purchased the tasting paddle where you get to choose 4 beers. 4 of their beers are canned so the rest on tap are only unique at the brewery (that I'm aware of, unless they keg it and distribute it elsewhere).
There's a non-alcholic option for the drivers as well.
The venue is very roomy and child friendly (we took our 8 month old).
It's a great place to visit, easy to find, friendly staff and excellent beers to choose from. Well worth a visit.
