See the quieter side of Mexico outside the resorts. There are places to shop and see just short drives away.

A great beach - clean and not overly crowded. Some big waves, but we also had calm days. A great place to spend the day

We visited the beach for the first time and we were impressed with how pristine it is. The water in the bay was clean, the waves OK for boarding, and the beach was free of debris. There were great restaurants and hotels on the beach....More

This flat, easily walkable, long stretch of fine sand and relatively tranquil waters, make a day at Chacala a delight, after busy Guayabitos. Small cove with a few funky fish restaurants on the sand, makes you feel like you're on Gilligan's Island!

Wonderful place to spend a quiet holiday at the beach. Lots of local restaurants surround the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas are hard to fing unless you eat at one of the restaurants. The waves are fun to play in and the scenery is beautiful.

Playa Chacala is a small, somewhat secluded beach, off highway 200 near La Penita. Reportedly there are only around 300 families living here and it lacks the infrastructure of Sayulita or San Pancho but it has a charm all its own. The sheltered crescent bay...More

We travel to this beach about once a week from a village to the south. The sand, sun, drinks and food are always great. Polite vendors. Not as crowded as others which are actually not as much fun as Chacala.

There is cell coverage. We did not activate a data plan during our stay because we had wifi at our condo.
