Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by.

After renting a boat for the first time and venturing out into the great beyond, we were so delighted to find the restaurant without any difficulty. We also appreciated the great help with tying the boat up, the cold beer and the wonderful burgers. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Decided to take the boat to Cabbage Key with a few friends for lunch today. I was instantly immersed into an excellent and truly unique experience. All the way from the dock masters help in getting into a slip and helping the ladies depart the boat safely to the excellent service from Rebecca. A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE !

This historic restaurant is a true treasure both literally and figuratively. Certainly $70,000 worth of $1s on the walls and ceilings qualify! Lunch was superb under the expert direction of our top notch server, Rebecca. She has a passion for the island, the restaurant, food and wine. Her "people skills" are excellent. She made our stop on Cabbage Key memorable.... More

Having rented a 26' deck boat the 4 of us set sail for some deserted islands for shelling and a slightly busier island for lunch. Cabbage Key is a treasure. It was very busy but the dock guide got us in in a minute. The island itself is small but enticing. A nature walk and viewing tower complement the cabins... More

Rebecca was so excited to hear your compliments and wonderful feedback! Our kitchen staff was also very happy to hear the meals they served were so well received. Our walls in the back dining room and bar area are covered in dollar bills from previous guests, amounting to about $70,000! Every year, we donate every dollar that falls from our... More

We rented a boat and spent the day fishing and exploring the area. Stopped by Cabbage Key for a Creeper and lunch. Our server, MARCIE recommended the smoked salmon as a starter which was terrific! We had cheeseburgers, shrimp salad and the black beans and rice with Mahi! Everything was perfect! We will be back!
