Such a great variety of memorability, set out beautifully. At first my, adult sons did not want to go in but once inside were glad they did. Very hands on for most of the things like bells etc made this a wonderful experience. Small gift shop for the little momentoes and friendly staff to assist anyway they can.

Well worth a visit, this museum is jam packed with great artifacts and it large even though it doesn't look that big from the outside. Don't miss this, plan to spend at least 2 hours here

What a great place! Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great exhibits. Costs $15 for an adult and $12.50 for Seniors but really worth it. Plus you get the marvellous view from the to of the hill where it is situated. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Dargaville, although probably not that interesting for younger children.

If you want to find out about this area then this is the place. Lots of exhibits about logging, loggers, pioneers and the history of this town and the surronding area. Worth popping in before you visit the Kauri forests to get some background

Didn't expect it to be great - pleasantly surprised. Good gum collection. Nice array of learning formats. The video of the lighthouses was excellent.

The museum punches well above its weight considering the size of the town. Not quiet as good as the Matakohe museum elsewhere in the district, but you would be miserable to complain. Great on a rainy day. The shipwreck exhibits are particularly impressive.

We spent four hours there today. Loved the really good collection of "things" documenting life as it used to be. Very well presented.

This is our local museum and has much to do with the Kauri Timber Trade and the export of the Timber from Dargaville area. Good to visit with the family and especially on a wet day.The staff are friendly and can tell one much about the subject to supplement the displays. Some of the volunteers who man the desk have...
