Tlapquepaque overall was well worthy of a visit, with colourful buildings and crowded interesting streets with restaurants and shop and atmosphere. Independence Avenue id the central street and hub and key to much of what happens here.

We walked this area several times, sat in the jardine, shopped the artist tables, ate at the restaurants, saw the community dancers in front of the Tlaquepaque sign, absorbed the public art and avoided the street dogs. Crowds were reasonable but in the evening heavier. Loved it!

Mall shopping has a place in my life for needs and artisan shopping fills my soul with the joy of craftsmanship and beauty you can't find in a shopping mall.

The layout of shops in Tlaquepaque along Calle Independence is so beautiful and inviting. Hand crafted clothing, shoes and bags, jewelry, art galleries, furniture and decorating items, as well as local coffee, sweets and tequila and many different restaurants for your snacking breaks.

The town square is a lovely place to have a cold drink and people watch if shopping is not your thing.

Having been to both Tlaquepaque and Tonalá, I would recommend doing both pueblos, since the shopping experiences are quite different, but equally enjoyable. So happy to have made the trip and will definitely return.

A designated “Pueblos Magicos”, a magic town; the town is known to one of the places where the Mariachi came from. A must visit town from Guadalajara. They have some amazing Art Galleries (Rodo Padilla and Sergio Bustamante). A very beautiful quaint town!!

We loved strolling down this street every afternoon and evening. The shops are beautiful and each one is prettier then the next. Temperatures and hand sanitizer were required before entering every store and each block had a person doing the same thing. We felt completely safe walking around here.

This small community on the outskirts of Guadalajara is artsy, colorful and lively with many shops and restaurants lining the traffic free street. We just took a mid day stroll and stopped off to have a drink before heading into the city.

This is where everyone is on Saturday night. The bars are hopping the buskers are busking the street vendors are selling their wears and I’ve never seen so many different cart food vendors. Saw urban hustle like good ole NY.
It’s crowded and lively and very stylin’!!!

My friend and I took a private tour of Tlaquepaque and unfortunately we went late in the day and didn't have a lot of time to explore. It's touristy, but it was still very fun. When we were there the streets were full of Mariachi bands. It was the first time I'd ever seen an all female Mariachi group and they were excellent!. Many of the shops are high end and beautiful. We sat in a plaza and listened to music and saw a dance performance. I look forward to going back and spending a few hours there.
