Kardamena is a coastal village of Kos about 30 km from the city of Kos and 7 km from the airport. According to the 2011 census it has 1,650 inhabitants. Ancient Alassarna, one of the six ancient municipalities of the island, has been an important religious center of the time, as evidenced by the temple of Apollo and others, smaller temples, antiquity and Byzantine times.

It was nice to see photos and the history of the place, the way things were done and the way they looked . Very nice of the locals to keep their history like that.

I got married here in 2015. Such a little gem hidden away on the harbour. If we weren't getting married here I would never of known it was here. Defiantly worth a visit, there is so much to see

A compact Little museum covering many aspects of life on the island. Staffed by volunteers, David was very friendly and knowledgeable, it gives a brief insight into the past. Well worth a visit

Kardamena is a quite dreaming village, now with many tourists, and it's always interesting to see old things of the village and her inhabitants, like old portraits; old music instruments, her housing and home life; to see a different fishing village without tourists;
