The tower looks especially beautiful when it is seen from the Mekong bridge. I'm not sure what was its purpose but it looks nice and unusual.

If you even THINK you might have vertigo or if you have a bad back or bad knees this isn't one for you. If you're looking at the lighthouse from the 'mainland' you can walk to the base of the Kizuna bridge and you'll find some steps up to road level. At the other end the steps down are found... More

Amazing view from the top- but the climb was frightening! Very steep climb! More of a ladder. But if you can get over it the view from the top is amazing! And Free! There's a little shop near the lighthouse and cabanas. We sat in the cabana had some beer and watched the sunset over the Mekong river! Amazing.

The French Tower was interesting. I wouldn't spend a lot of time there, but 30 min was good to climb to the top and see the beautiful view. The architecture was interesting.

Beautiful 360 view of Kampong Cham, Friendship Bridge, Bamboo Bridge and Mekong River. If you like a scenic bike ride from the French Tower follow road 308. It goes through Chirou Ti Muoy and Boeng Pruol Commune.

The French Tower architecture is really cool. The view is really good as well, though I must caution you about the steps. From the bottom, the steps don't look that bad, but then after the third or fourth landing they become intimidating. The steps are about a foot apart, and there are about 15 between each landing. A cool place... More

Nothing special. Nice view. It's said enough bout the steps. For me it's still a visit worth. Besides that, there is no entrance fee.

This lighthouse, right over the Japanese Friendship Bridge from Kampong Cham is an interesting legacy of colonial rule over Cambodia. Once you climb the stairs- more of a ladder- to the top, you are afforded an excellent view of Kampong Cham city across the Mekong and the surrounding Cambodian countryside. The whole trip including travel time should take no longer... More

A lovely piece of history in this peaceful and beautiful small city. Glad I wasn't a lighthouse keeper back then as the climb to the top was beyond daunting. Well worth a visit.
