It is the China border and you can see the Chinese check post clearly. Its cold here at this time of the year. No such breathing problem faced by anyone in our group of 14 people with an age ranging from 3 to 60 years. Weather changes here pretty quickly. Start early to enjoy the place. Monday Tuesday closed so... More

Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass, at 4,310 m above mean sea level.

Very nice place which is at a great height. Here you may face oxygen deficiency. If you have lungs or heart problem then avoid visiting this place. Here you can get a feel the braveness of Indian army. How they stay in such cold , dangerous and oxygen deficient place.

It was very foggy. Could not see a thing. The road to this place is good. Costs 8k for a Innova booking.

It's really a nice place to visit and very cold too. Basically it's a India-China border, so you have to take a permit before going there.

Much hype good marketing done by tour operators to visit Nathula. Should not visit in rainy season or when the sky is not clear. Too cold no provision for warm clothes on rent. Have to plan 24 hours in advance as permit has to be organized by tour operator 2 photos and I'd card has to be provided. Always travel... More

a distance of aout 25 km needs about 3-4 hrs to reach depending on the traffic conditions. There is very little opportunity for you tto stop midway and enjoy the landscape. On way of course you can stop at the lake and enjoy a yak ride. Nathula pass is controlled by army and I see no valid reasons for banning... More

The feeling of being 14,150 feet above sea level is in itself an amazing experience. Seeing the Indian forces at the brink of the two nations gives a feeling of pride. A must visit place, you cannot take any pictures and not recommended for people with breathing problem as the oxygen level is low. Do collect the certificate of visit.
