Bright yellow temple on top of a hill...quite a few steps to get up to the temple. The view is wonderful at the top. The actual temple is small but there's a rotunda at the top where you can sit and enjoy. On a cold day it can be chilly as you have to remove your shoes.
Was impressed as someone in my group left their bag behind at the temple, and 2 hrs later the bag was still there!

Most of these places in Sikkim are extremely clean and tourist friendly. The weather was quite chilling when we rose to the top after few steps. The temple was peaceful and calm. this is a nice place to visit both from religious and picturesque point of view.

Ganesh tok is a temple of ganesh ji in gangtok. It is one of the places to visit in the city. One has to climb around 100 stairs to reach the temple. However, it is not very difficult, even for senior citizens. The views from the temple are also very beautiful. Must visit.

U shd dress up in a traditional Sikkimese costume & then go up & enter the Tok.
U will be admired by one & all & mistaken for a Sikkimese couple!
A lot of colourful outfits are on rent for a pittance (Rs40) & they take lot of trouble to dress U up!

Ganesh Tok is well known place for the tourist, here you can see the fantastic view of Himalaya range known as Kanchanjunga peak rather than there is small snacks center.

Quiet and peaceful place. Next to the Mandir there is observatory deck where you get some beautiful views. Good place to click some photos.

There is a gift shop nearby as well. Since I hadn't been to Mall Road yet, didn't have an estimate of the prices. Later learnt that the goods sold here are priced marginally higher. You'd get all of it in Mall road. You can buy there. There are some make shift shops near the parking lot. You can give a try shopping there as well. After all it'd help them live a living.

Note: Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok and Tashi view point can be covered if you happen to be in this part of Gangtok.

Ganesh Tok is on the Gangtok – Nathula road, close to the Himalayan Zoological Park. It is built on a hillock at 6500 feet. The path is crisscrossed with vibrant multi-coloured prayer banners tied atop trees and flags (Patakas in Sanskrit) hoisted on poles along the way, infusing a mystical and devotional aura to the surrounding.
Ascend with a bit of stair climbing, remove footwear midway follow by some more stair climbing and you are there. Entering into the sanctum requires a bit of acrobatics, a bit of low level walk and a bit of squeeze to get your “Darshana” (Auspicious sighting) of Lord Ganesha. As the sanctum is really small and can accommodate just one person, you are assured of a personal “Darshana”.

Post blessings step up to the viewing gallery for the much written views. If you are blessed with a clear day, hallelujah! You get to view Gangtok, the Raj Bhavan and also the majestic Kanchenjunga.

On site are a souvenir shop and a cafeteria, not much to write about, but hey you never know when you need one.
Adjacent to the complex is “Smriti Van” where a sapling can be planted on marriage, birthday, anniversary or demise as a symbolic token of love or mark of respect. Truly a applaud able initiative by the government involving society at large in creating and promoting nature conservation.

Personally I would give this place a miss and rather spend the time in the neighbouring zoological park or just feast on steaming momos and people watch on M. G. Road as the temple is like millions across this great nation and the view was nothing spectacular or special over the many more strategic viewing points which one would be covering anyways.

Win some lose some!
