This port is significant to Rizhao's economy. The port has a museum which outlines its history and its future plans with a model that lights up. I wouldn't recommend you come here without a guide.

During a business trip my hosts took le to the port, it's interesting to see the largest mining port of northern China, not much else to do more than walking around

From the port, you can go out on boats to ride in the waves for a while. It's expensive to go (100 yuan per person) and the time is only about 30 minutes to ride, but the views of the Rizhao coastline are nice.
