Such a pity the Bhuj earthquake affected the Palace and caused the family to relocate to the neighbouring Zanana. It is like they left only yesterday and it is wonderful to have the opportunity to tour what was clearly a home. I do hope the Palace remains safe from further deterioration! Ranjit vilas palace is very good place. Very old place and very good architecture. Very good history place and peaceful too. Very good visit.

Wankaner Palace aka Ranjit Vilas Palace is a beautiful and historical royal palace. It is one of the most beautiful royal palaces in India. A must to visit palace. However, it is not open for general public.

If you look for a truly heritage and royal palace in wankaner ,you have to visit Ranjit vilas palace in wankaner. It was built up by Maharaja of Wankaner H.H. Amarsinhji in the 20th century. This is really a very good palace. This Ranjit Vilas Palace is one of best palace among the other palaces in surashtra region. Here, 3-4 time can be easily spent over here. Good display of all antic pieces /item

one of the most neglected properties... owners should sell or surrender to govt. so that it can be developed for tourism. lots of potential

About 30 miles from Rajkot is the small town of Wankaner. On the hill overlooking the town the local royal family built a palace completed in the 1940s. It's in bad shape.
