The shopping arcade sits smack in the middle of one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods on the Island and has it's own marina with some of the yachts of the upper echelons of Penang society. Plenty of very affordable eateries and a smaller mid-range supermarket are the setting for regular events and happening in the arcade and the neighbouring Performing... More

A nice arrangement of restaurants fronting the marina where you can have a meal while enjoying the views of the sea and marina. There are now a couple of empty lots at the shopping arcade here. Still a nice place to enjoy a stroll along the seafront. There are bicycles and roller skates for rent as well.

This is a posh mall with apartments above. The marina is filled with many high priced boats. There is a super market by the main entrance selling ready made food too. Be informed the readymade food are wormed in the microwave.

If you want to relax and have a good meal with drinks along the harbour, then this is a must. You can also rent skates or bicycles and ride it along the harbour. This place had a live band when we went there. And enjoyed the whole ambience.

This place should be wonderful. The setting: a small marina, fronted by a row of attractive restaurants and boutiques, elegant apartments and houses near by for a natural clientele and even a service of boat taxis to ferry people to town. Unfortunately, the greed of developers charging horrendous rental rates from shops and eating places means that the place is... More

We've been to Straits Quay several times but it's really dull. The restaurants are really poor, especially service and there aren't any good stores. Good luck finding access to the parkade from the mall.

It was good to see the Marina, the boats and the sea views so the effort to get there was worth it for that. However, the Mall was disappointing and bore little resemblance to the elegant shopping I remember from a few years ago. There were several empty lots and I was surprised to see a factory outlet on the... More

Big and nice building with colonial architecture. Spacious with lots of restaurants and shops. Relaxing atmosphere. Most shops and restaurants and suites face the marina bay where boats are anchored. Very good place to stroll around after your meals and shopping. Penang performing arts centre is at another building. Good tracks for jogging, brisk walking, roller skating and cycling. Many...
