Good night out
Dec. 2019 • Friends
Its more tourist aware place then similar hawker areas elsewhere on the island.
I ordered a huge amount of food as my local friends were paying, the quality was very variable and prices on the upper side of normal then in the other bazaars!
The atmosphere is very lively. I recommend beef meat soup as my favourite.

Ethnic textiles
Feb. 2019 • Solo
Next to the Chowrasta market is a labyrinth full of ethnic clothing and fabrics with reasonable prices. Many of the printed caftans are available in cotton and viscose, the batik sold by 1,5 m pieces is often polycotton, a mix and made in Indonesia. Kebaya is a traditional Malaysian festive blouse with border embroidery, produced besides polyester also in light cotton voile.

Lots of Trinkets
Sep. 2017 • Family
Just down the road from Gerney Plaza - the home of high end product is the Penang Bazaar where there are lots of food stalls and lots of trinkets / nick nacks. Handy things you may or may not use but loads of fun to visit

Not worth the time
Feb. 2018 • Friends
We were looking for some kind of markets in Georgetown but these were the only shopping that was recommended. Repetitive items and not a great choice. Mainly junk!

Went get some house costs for our daughters
Mar. 2018 • Couples
This is a real bazaar. The clothes are very Indian in their style and very colourful. The bazaar I'd bit very well lit and there are a lot of stalls. Nearly all just sell clothes. Worth a look.

Cheap
Feb. 2017 • Couples
This is one large market all selling the same items of T Shirts, clothes, scarves, hats, sunglasses. A few stalls selling cakes and sweet treats but nothing else. Ok if you require any of these items as they are cheap and cheaper than the night market in Batu Ferringhi. Bus stop straight outside for either hop on hop off or penang rapid or cat bus.

Cheap bargains
Sep. 2016 • Family
This bazaar along Penang Road sells local products, clothing, t-shirts, cheap bags and shoes as well as souvenirs. There are also some stalls selling fresh and preserved fruits, durian cakes and cookies. A good place to browse and shop for cheap bargains.
