Penang is renowned as a major source of the world's spices, especially cloves, nutmeg, mace and betel, so it would be worth a detour to see how these things grow. But the Tropical Spice Garden is so much more than this - it is a...More

It's a nicely designed place with a lot of information especially for those interested in tropical flora. You get a small electronic audio guide for each person. Just key in the number for that particular exhibit/section to listen. Most of the audio would average about...More

Went here after a visit to the national park, since it's quite close. It's a very nice garden, very informative (it includes a self audio tour). They do give you bug spray because of the mosquitos, but you might also want to bring your own.

Lovely gardens with interesting audio to learn all about the history and uses of many spices. Nicely laid out with clear numbers for audio. Large lizard greeted us at the pond! Very good Thai restaurant at the end with tables on the water.

My children loved it here, running around the paths and finding little secret areas in the gardens. You get to enjoy tea (herbal) and drink from a fresh spring halfway which was lovely. The kids area is under repair, but otherwise this was a great...More
