We hiked this on a hot late afternoon in late June. There's a 620 meter (2000 ft) elevation gain in just 4 km (2.5 miles), so it's not long but it's quite steep. The early climbing is in the forest but it becomes exposed once...More

High and Mighty look over the fjords and almost feeling alone. A strenuous hike for end 50ers but worth it. Beautiful weather to match. A feel good day.

This hike takes some work but from the parking area on Mollandmarksi road it is only about 1.5 hours to the top. You look down with beautiful views of Sognefjord. We went in May and there was little snow. But depending on the winter there...More

It is a fairly demanding hike but enormously rewarding with beautiful views most of the time, largely of the Lusterfjord towards Urnes or the snow covered peaks of Jostedalsbreen national park, but at the every end also towards Skjolden the farthest tip of the fjord.

We found the decent to be quite hard for our age group but the views and autumn colours were magnificent. Pity we felt we had to go back when we were only half way.

We have two kids in age of 2 and 4. They enjoyed the hike a lot, especially the view on the Lustrafjord.

We did the hike but stopped short of the final viewpoint because we were limited on time and felt the view was just as nice. Terrain can be muddy and slippery and is steep in some places. Bring water for sure. It took us about...More

We spent almost a month in south Norway, from Stavanger to Andalsnes. We did many hikes and bike rides and drove many of the tourist routes and took in many beautiful views but hands down, hiking Molden will be my best memory of the fjords....More

We spent 3 hours doing this hike up and back down. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Norway. Stunning views. Take plenty of water!

One good way to feel alive is to climb steep hills and feel your heart pound in your chest. If you enjoy the feeling try walking to Molden from Marifjøra! The peak is at 1116 meters above sea level (and yes that is where you...More

From the Mollandsmarki road parking it's not far and pretty well signed. Exact location is also in the (free) hiking booklet you can find at the tourist office (eg.in Sogndal). Enjoy your hike !

You would need a rental car to get to this point, unless the hotel you are staying at can drive you to the start point and pick you up after.
