Fenghuang is a nice ancient city built along a river. During the day it's great to walk through the little streets and discover the many nice things they are selling. The place is full of chinese tourists, I saw maybe 5 western tourists in a whole day walking. During the Night, the bars along the river play loud disco music,... More

The crowds are a killer - takes away the time one can spend quietly in a museum. I cant even think to be honest and if its raining (most of the time it is in summer), it gets unbearable for me.

The city is a real tourist trap, still it is very beautiful and extremely photogenic. You won't have the feeling that you've discovered something new, but the beauty of the scene along the river makes up for it easily.

Fenghuang city's attraction owner is the same as the yellow dragon cave. So if you like either one you should visit both which are in a state of art. The feng huang ancient city is lined with ancient wooden stilt houses which gives it a old dynasty feel. Over here you can take a sedan ride and sail down the... More

Much to see in the Museum. Remember to step over the high entry ledges. Old ceremonial rooms, beautiful courtyards. Silver plays an important role in Miao culture. Fenghuang is true jewel.

Fenghuang is very well known as a tourist destination within China, but almost unheard of outside China. You'll need to buy an entrance ticket and make sure you stay within the ancient city (凤凰古城), not the normal run-of-the-mill city of the same name around it. The architecture is breathtaking, the river serene, the bridges and crossings cool, and plenty of... More

A great place - river, bridges, great arhitechtural ancient buildings, nearby museums that depcit rich culture. Take a river boat ride to soak in the scenery and life at the river banks. Sample the tea and local delights. At night, the lighting at the river is spectacular, at the "square" in the evening; everyone (very young to very elderly) is... More

If you like shipping on the river Tuo, you should go early in the morning! It takes 2 hour to stay in the queue for entering. If you don't like this crowded area, you can go to "Space Cafe" for a cup of Tea and a Cheese Cake. The view is fantastic above the River Tuo. It was raining cats... More
