Thoiry is a rare example of esoteric Renaissance architecture where the sun rises or sets in the central arch following the solstices. Home since 1559 of the Counts of La Panouse, the drawing rooms offer visitors fine family portraits, furniture and tapestries presented by costumed guides. The 300 acre gardens: Rhododendron woods, Maze, Autumn, Rose, and Perfume Gardens, perennial borders give year round pleasure. Thoiry's world famous 350 acre animal reserve is open year round.

The safari park element was interesting with the zebra and ostriches being very brave and approaching the car looking for a snack. The zoo area will keep the kids entertained although if you want to go through the lion enclosure there is an extra cost.

Such a "scam" : a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people. The internet site announces such a nice experience but the reality is something else. 76€ for a family of three. Total waste. The number of animals are in so little number that...More

The safari experience was great. The kids totally enjoyed watching the bears, giraffes, deer, etc. The icing on the cake were the zebra and ostrich strolling around and reaching up close to our cars! The zoo was fun as well. The lion on the tube...More

This is a combined castle, parc and zoo visit. You will easily spend a day, though you won't feel exhausted in the end. There are several places to sit, drinkable water fountains and toitles throughout the zoo. There are a few animals that had some...More

This place is definitely worth a visit. Main drive through is lovely, all animals were active and interested, even the Bears who are normally sleeping. Lots of cafes, covered and open picnic areas, vending machines and water fountains dotted all over the park. Very relaxed...More

The safari trucks go inside where the cars go plus the lions. Cars don't get to see the lions.
