About
The Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve was established in 1968, making it, together with the Malindi Marine National Park, one of the oldest marine parks in Africa. In 1979, UNESCO defined the Malindi-Watamu Biosphere Reserve, which includes within it the Malindi National Park and Reserve and the Watamu Marine National Park. In 2019, the biosphere reserve was enlarged to 487,278 hectares and now includes the former reserve and Arabuko Sokoke Forest under the name Malindi Watamu Arabuko Sokoke Biosphere Reserve. A variety of activities such as canoe rides and walks along the boardwalk through mangrove forests can be enjoyed in the reserve. There are also accommodations and local restaurants.

So boring to be for about 4 hours sitting on the downi doing nothing. We have just spotted a few birds and at the very end, the sunset (not a special one). They didn't offer us the so-called snack. The only drink available was a little bottle of water, warm, and a lukewarm coke. Do not waste your money, stay on the beach

We arrived at this little oasis after Diani Beach. What a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle. This eco friendly hotel is quietly tucked away off the beaten track and expertly managed by Marion and her fantastic staff. We enjoyed the scenery, food and paddling through the mangroves. And in between we thoroughly enjoyed the salt water swimming pool.

beautiful, wide creek surrounded by mangrove forrest. I arranged a kayak trip through Watamu Treehouse. Lots of side canals to explore. They also have a Mida Creek float on the full moon that looks amazing.

We took a boat tour to mida creek, reroute we enjoyed dolphin viewing and a bit of snorkelling.
But the lunch at the creek was the icing on the cake..the crew grilled fresh seafood served with cold drinks and we had a chance to explore the creek on canoe ad get interesting facts from the fishermen . It was good fun for everyone. We booked our tour through Jerry +254725817318

Hats off to the chef. Try the sea food platter if you can. You shan't be disappointed. Grilled chicken was also quite tasty. The food takes a little while to prepare but it well worth the wait.

Ask a local fisherman to take you fishing then give him half the catch and take the rest back to the hotel and get the Chef to make fish and chips 'the English way' You wont get a better meal.

We are a family of five people who went on the tour end December 2021. We really enjoyed the tour and we especially enjoyed being taken on the tour by Hassan. He was an excellent guide who really had lots of knowledge and interest in the flora and fauna. He was also very positive and kept everyone in a good spirit, especially our seven year old who kept singing/making the same noises as Hassan for the rest of our trip. Hassan took off before we were able to tip him for his excellent guiding but we would like to recommend him and the tour here instead.

Is it possible to fish in Mida Creek?
Written November 3, 2019
Not sure, you have to pay an entrance fee of $17 to enter the area and you can go out with a local fisherman but not entirely sure you would be permitted to go fishing on your own

Salve ma se volessi fare l escur
sione in autonomia?

Ciao
