Interesting and beautiful place, however you can start to feel how outdated Tintin is.

Try to enjoy the free visits on some week-ends, my passion for Tintin is just too weak to pay for such a visit.

Belgium, being cartoonists heaven shows proudly its heritage here and there. So does the futuristic building containing the Hergémuseeum outside Brussels. A short trip by train, a short walk and you are about to see incredible sketches as well as getting to know the highly regarded man behind the images. A significant moment for Tintin-lovers.

It helps to be a Tintin-fan
Nov. 2019
We spend two hours discovering the museum, the life of Hergé and his time. The displays are beautifully laid out and interactive (at least some) and we really enjoyed it!

2 day visit
Apr. 2019
Wanted to come here for a few years now. I am a massive Tintin fan. Came with a friend of mine who is also a Tintin fan. We both loved the museum. Full of facts, photos, scripts and the history of Herge and how he created and improved on Tintin and his characters.
The museum is bright and airy, all be it slightly tucked away. I would have liked to have seen more large pictures and photos on the wall. There was plenty of empty wall space which was a shame.
The merchandise shop had a large selection of items for sale, a few extra items than the shop in Covent Garden, London, where I buy the majority of my Tintin merchandise.
In relation to the merchandise, I want to see larger Tintin items on sale. Cardboard cut outs, tea towels, bags. The T-shirts have small pictures of the characters on them, as does the towels etc...I want to see big, bold Tintin pictures. Fill the towel with a picture, not a small picture in the corner! The calendar, again, the pictures hardly feature the characters.
The crockery has small pictures...Please make the Tintin merchandise big and bold Fill every space.

Interesting visit - must see for Tintin fans
Feb. 2020
This is the best place to visit for Tintin fans and yet we felt, the entire experience and history of Herge and Tintin could have been told slightly better. We visited on the first Sunday of the month when the visit was free, though we did pick up audio guides. Loved the facilities within the museum and the polite, helpful staff. The travel to the museum though was a little complicated, what with changing trains at Ottignes, where we almost got onto a train for Louvainne. Be careful to get onto the S8 for Louvain - La - Nueve. Takes an hour each way so plan well.

Not for small children
Feb. 2020
Too much reading and too listening and not so much fun and playing. This museum is for adults and not for kids. Hergé made great stories that entertained a lot, but the museum is too serious about his work and life. The best thing is the shop.

A must see even for people who don't read comics

Stunning architecture.
The visit of the museum is very pleasant, starting from the top floor and going progressively down.
Very educational presentations to put the comics into their historical context.

Now that’s a piece of art both outside and inside. Beautiful building with a very impressive exhibition of Herge’s work and life. For the fans of TinTin it’s simply unmissable. For the rest it’s a model of a great museum.
