This beautiful old church is named after Corfu's patron saint. We came here as part of a Viking Ocean excursion.

This lovely sixteenth Century Church, dedicated to the Patron Saint of. Corfu, is located in the heart of the Old Town, and is easily recognisable by its red-domed Belltower - the tallest in Corfu. The interior is quite dark but there is a lot of...More

No photography, no mobile phones. These signs (with symbols so not understanding Greek can't be used as an excuse) are displayed outside and inside the church, and very clear. Why do people offend the church and its followers by completely ignoring these instructions? The altar...More

It can be very crowded as it is a popular place to visit due to St Spiridon being the Saint of Corfu, but the guided tours pass through and you can then enjoy a relatively peaceful visit. The church is beautiful and filled with wonderful...More

A small but beautiful church in the centre of the old town. The tower is the highest point in the town and makes finding the church fairly straightforward. The interior of this orthodox church is typical of churches in this faith and has a very...More

A beautiful small church with a reverent atmosphere. Plenty of gold and artwork and you can join a queue to see the body of the saint. There was another area that I think was a shop selling icons but I didn't go in. If you...More

Generally in corfu, there is a magical combination of eastern orthodox and western practices. This combination expands in every aspect. The Liturgy, the House, the iconostasis etc. Although the outside look of the building doesn't clue for something special, once you step inside you 'll...More

You can only walk there actually the church is located to the old town so there are no roads only around the old city. You can take a bus possible- if there is - to Liston and from there is only 3 min walking distance
