I loved this church visit, it was part of an excursion we took from Punta Cana, and it really was the highlight. The building is incredibly impressive, and pictures don't do it justice. Everyone working there and at the museum was so kind and helpful....More

This was one of the stops on our excursion. The architecture is simply beautiful. Well worth the visit while on the island. The visit is not that long but I am glad it was part of the tour.

It is so beautiful and peaceful. It's right in the center of Higuey and around a lot of stores. You must visit!

We visited the Basilica on a Sunday, it was very crowded. Try any other day. Mass was in progress, so walking through seemed intrusive. Compared to cathedrals in Europe this is a disappointment. But it has been visited by two popes.

The basilica is worth a visit. The modern architecture takes a bit of getting used to, but all times impressive.

i went during the middle week which was great because it was empty only a few people here and there. The basilica itself is fairly small but it has great detail on its doors, on the outside of the building and within it. The surrounding...More

This basilica is a very spiritual place to go for praying and meditating. It is located in the city of Higuey. You can also buy and light candles just outside of the main entrance. Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul II both visited here years...More
