Only 5 cuc. We did not pay extra to use her cell phones to take pictures. We're pretty thrifty so we figured we could find pictures on Google. The walk inside the cave is quite long which is nice because cave tours to me always...More

There is a long series of steep steps to enter the caves so wear good shoes. We have visited many cave systems around the world and were disappointed by the damage that has been and continues to be done by visitors to this cave.

These caves are a must see - there's an hour long guided tour! Alfredo explained everything in English and even took photos for us! The descent is 50m via stairs. Make sure to wear decent shoes as it can be a bit slippy in points.

There are some really spectacular elements in these caves. Unfortunately they were opened to tourists long before anyone knew how to protect them, and a lot of the beauty is marred - you can see where past tourists have broken the formations or discoloured them...More

This turned out to be a bit of a money grab. After paying admission we had to pay $5 per camera too and leave my purse locked in a wooden locker in the entry hall. Wasn't too keen on that however I do understand why...More

Ok. It's not Carlsbad Caverns but if you are going to Mantanzas you might as well throw this in. Our guide figured it would take 20 minutes. It took an hour and a half because there were about 20 people with little kids who constantly...More

Guided walks with a small group in these beautiful underground passageways. A must see if: you are not a fall risk and have no respiratory issues.

This is said to be the oldest tourist spot in Cuba. They extend for 23 kms. but only 15kms. are accessible. The rock formations are incredible with spectacular crystalline shapes. The guide is English and Spanish speaking and it costs 5cucs. each.

It cost 5 CUC per person and was a nice respite from the extreme heat. The guide spoke Spanish and English. The group was large and moved slowly. The rock formations were beautiful. There was also a playground, bar, restaurant and shop. Most fun just...More

Before leaving we had read so many positive reviews of this place that we needed to work it into the itinerary. We decided to book it as part of a bus tour that had a few other stops along the way. Very affordable. This is...More

I don't have the exact times here, but I think something like at least 10-4 would be a pretty good guess. We went early afternoon.

Yes, they had a whole class full of kids that age visiting the caves. I'm not sure how interested they would be. I guess it depends on the individual child. It's a lot of stairs and walking.

I am unaware of the exact distance from Jibacoa, however in Cuba the roads are in a poor state of repair, driving is at a lower speed than expected and directions are not so easy to obtain So whatever it should take, it will... More
