Everybody that likes history should visit Almeida. It is unique! Do not forget the museum and a walk all around the walls. The tourist information office has very good maps with information and history.

It is actually hidden, as you see little more than just the fortification when you arrive at the gate. Once you go through the gate you find there is a complete little town inside with bars, restaurants, shops, a church, post office, etc. Very nice...More
