Museu José Malhoa is a small museum, but packed with many interesting works. It’s a good place to go to while away 30-ish minutes, or more should the muse inspire you. The art goes beyond just that of the eponymous artist and his cohorts, and...More

A pleasant surprise in the middle of the nicest park. Has a more than decent collection of an important part of the history of Portuguese art. Really a must see @Caldas.

Museu Jose Malhoa has a wonderful setting in the Dom Carlos 1 Park. The museum itself is an interesting modernist building housing mainly twentieth century works by portuguese artists and many sculptures in the grounds surrounding it. A good collection of works illustrating the portuguese...More

The museum is rather a late 19th c and early 20th c. art history of Portugal and the town and much bigger inside than it seems. Unlike many museums, you can see the whole place in just over an hour. Outside in the park there...More

This gem of a gallery (not really a museum) is located in the heart of the park, surrounded by statuary that is worth spending time on in its own right. Go to the toilet in the park before you go in if you're, like me,...More
