Great place to spend a day. Went to a an island and had some mexcal a Mexican tequila and mud packs on our faces, Great boat ride to the end where you dive in the water and wash off the mud and cross over a hill to the ocean on the other side. Highly recommended.

I started from Acapulco, took a bus labeled "Playa" out to the end destination at Pie de la Cuesta. It took one hour approx. to arrive. I was waiting about 5 min until next colectivo bus and vent on towards Barra de Coyuca. 30 min later I was standing at the narrow strip of land between Pacific Ocean and Laguna de Coyuca (where Sylvester Stallone filmed Rambo: First Blood Part II).
It was too cloudy to capture the sunset, unfortunately. However. I decided to walk further on to reach the very end of intersection. The mixture of the two different areas turned out in success. It came naturally and very beautiful to me, with bird flocks, sand, sea waves and the lagoon. Very peaceful atmosphere, I would say.

The boat tour of the lagoon was a very relaxing experience. Our boatman took the boat to a lotus pond. His young assistant, a 12 year old kid got down in the pond, took out some mud, and applied it to our legs, arms, face. We washed it all out after coming back to the shore. It was a very natural spa! Loved the fresh coconut water, too.

This was an all day trip, and included a buffet lunch, drinks and a swim. We travelled by van to the lagoon where we got on a motor boat. We had an hour's cruise around the lagoon. Birds are plentiful. It is a lovely site. We made one stop on a small island where there was an outdoor restaurant. The attraction there was a crocodile (caged) and turtles. Sometimes the baby turtles are released, but we did not view that.
We then went to a private restaurant where we had a buffet lunch, (so so), and the possibility of drinking a coco loco. I declined, but enjoyed a refreshing drink from a coconut. The pool was lovely for swimming. There was also a beach, but swimming is not particularly safe.

Laguna de Coyuca is not very known for the foreign tourist but this place should be visited if you are looking for sweet water, good food, birds and quietness. It is a great place to skiwater early in the mornings.
If you do a full tour around the laguna you will be able to get to the side of the Pacific Ocean walking or swiming, depending on the time of year and the current.
Food at the Lagoon is affordable and delicious, you will enjoy it after some water ski in the morning or some swimming in the afternoon.
There is a little island/house in the middle of the Lagoon where some nice mysterious drinks of tequila and mezcal are served. It is a nice stop for friends wanting to avoid the sun for a little bit.
I would recommend this because it is not very touristy and it is peaceful and a place well known by true locals.

to watch the the sunset, but also it so beautiful in the morning because you can take a walk in the beach and you can watch the sun rise and during the winter some time you can see the dolphin swimming and playing, and the food It's o.k.

Nice place to kayak, watch birds, and eat lunch. Very shallow in many parts, so good if you have unsteady kayakers, or children in kayaks, or dogs that are not water-loving breeds.

A place to see! Some people say that it is where you have the most beautiful Sunset! Nice beach but you do not go swimming, the waves are too strong!
