Using a tourist map provided by our hotel, Royal Hotel located in the old town, we commenced our walk through the back streets of the Old Town. Within 10 minutes we were at the beautiful small chapel of St Michael. As the photos show it is old and beautiful. Entry is free and for those who like looking at headstones... More

For those weirdo who like to walk through cemeteries - like me - this is a beautiful old cemetery to photograph and get away from the hustle and bustle of Macau for a short time.

We were lost on the street of Macau and stumbled across this quaint chapel, and decided to enter to take a look. Being a chapel next to the cemetery, we would understand why it is not a usually crowded place but on that day it was totally empty. Totally. Sensing that something might not feel right, my friend overheard from... More

This church is one of the rare gothic-style Catholic churches in Macau. On a slight rise, it lends itself to photo opportunities. The surrounding cemetery is an interesting place to wander through in terms of the names and biographical details of centuries' worth of Macau residents.

Although i'm not religious & therefore not a church person, i found this little church worthy of our time. We enjoyed walking into the extremely small chapel and viewing the headstones in the well looked after cemetry. There is also a public toilet in the bottom left when you enter through the gate.

Although some people do not like cemeteries, this was one of the most beautiful & peaceful places in Macau...and also has incredible history. You can walk through the cemetery and see photos and names that represent the blended Portuguese and Chinese cultures. The chapel is small with gorgeous stained glass windows and an aqua exterior that shines in the sun...definitely... More
