Without the crowds it was a great photo opportunity however there are so many generic shops here it was hard to avoid crowds after 11am. The harshly lit signs of modern shopping were a weird combination with the old style of he buildings and I hope this isn't a sign that old Macau is losing its identity!

This place is very crowded when I visited on December. There are many beautiful building along the street & as I walk to go to Ruins of St. Paul, there are lots of shops selling macau cookies where they generously offer free sample. The road signage are clear, so we know which direction to take.

This place very crowded, many shop and food stall around this area. You must try curry beef, delicious and hot. You can buy portugis cake and local cake. Cost you 8-10 hkd per piece. Its located near grand lisboa hotel and casino. I very recomend this place.

Shame about the volumes of people, but this is China..... but lovely history of Macau, so worth walking through - lots of commercialism, but we ignored that and enjoyed the walk.

Largo do Senado has been restored nicely, but the cheap cosmetic shops and cheap fast food places around the square adversely affect the authenticity of the place. You basically cannot avoid Largo do Senado if you want to explore the old town of Macau. The crowds are generally unbelievable, and it's easy to lose one another if you're in a... More

if you have nothing much to do in Macau, it is worth a visit. it is full of cheap shops and eats, the government should do something about it to restore its former glory

Senado Square sits at the entrance of a series of streets and roads that lead up to the ruins of St Paul. Along these streets are many shops, especially multiple branches of the famous Pastelaria Koi Kei. There are also many retailers. However, what is interesting is not the shops, but the architecture. These shops are housed in older buildings... More

The crowds here are unbelievable. When we went it was difficult to move except st a slow pace. We thought we were unlucky but on talking to other visitors. They reported days when people were shoulder to shoulder and could only move with the crowd in one direction. But don't be put off, the square is the starting point for... More

Senado Square is not very accessible via the free shuttle bus service from the ferry terminal but you can walk from Galaxy Hotel or use your phone's GPS. It is VERY, VERY touristy but you can take nice photographs, enjoy the local food (polo bun, portugese egg tart) and then walk over to see the Guia Lighthouse and Fortress. Enjoy!
