Great place for kids

Very educational and fun too. Illustrates Macau's maritime past in a fun way and there is plenty for kids to do and touch. If the weather is bad you could spend a few hours here. The temple is across the road so it's a two in one visit. Three in one if you go to the church on the hill... More

Only visited this museum because we went to the Ah Ma Temple as it is only next door. Disappointing as it is too small and not enough exhibits on show.

Average. If you have limited time and are looking to prioritize where to go, I would give this place a pass.

The displays are professionally arranged and interesting. And the price is right! There were artifacts and dioramas, films and signage that help to paint a better understanding of the local culture and the history of Macau.

If you read some pirate stories in your childhood, it is already worth a visit. If you have children with you and would like they will read the same stories, this place is a must. And if the wine-dark sea, ocean or river means for you a bit more as just body of water, be prepared to spend couple of... More

I enjoyed this museum much more than I thought I would! There were great dioramas, and I really liked the videos of fisherman pulling in their catch, and historic photos. Great historical perspective. I also liked the aquariums, and the gift shop!

If you go to the A ma Temple it is well worth a visit as it is virtually next door. It is well laid out and has interesting exhibits to do with all things of a maritime nature.

The Maritime Museum (MOP10 for adults over 17, only MOP5 of Sunday) is easily one of Macau's best museums and is conveniently located just across from the famous A-Ma Temple. Here you can see four floors of exhibitions, displays and information related to local maritime activity and how Macau was shaped throughout history due to its proximity to the sea.... More

The Maritime Museum is opposite the A-Ma Temple and was built on the site where the first group of Portuguese explorers landed at Macau in 1553. The museum exhibits interesting artifacts from the seafaring and trading past of Macau, China and Portugal. There is a mock-up of a Hakka fishing village and there are displays of dragon boats. The museum... More

Why not? You're visiting the A-Ma temple anyway and it's just across the plaza. Actually, quite interesting if you're interested in maritime stuff.
