I visited this palace in last WK Dec 2017. Snow covered view all around. But personally I prefer betab valley (hengan valley) to any other valley. Aru valley is also worth visited.

We were told that the only reason this place is in the itinerary is because it is the starting point of Shri Amarnathji yatra. We definitely wanted to see the place for this reason. But the scenic beauty and the atmosphere, with the Lidder river...More

This is the starting point for the Amarnath yatra. We were very lucky to play in the snow as the place had continuous snowfall a week before we reached Chandanwari. The route to Chandanwari from Aru valley is very picturesque and one must stop to...More

Chandanwari is famous in pilgrims. We visited this place in off season. It was serene and delightful. Tourists can trek towards Amarnath Cave. We liked chandanwari more than Betaab valley and Aru valley in Pahalgam.

It was an amazing experience to see the ice still remaining from Feb when we went in August! The river Sheshnag cutting through and flowing through the ice was truly beautiful! The starting point to the Amarnath yatra by steps was here.
