As castles go this is one and it nicely frames the harbour. It is pleasant early evening to take a walk along the side of the walls and watch boat owners struggle to moor up. The walls are also the home to at least one...More

Very beautifull place to see with the marvellous views and atmosphere. It's definately for the people fond of all kinds of " Grand Masters" history.

Castle closed due to earthquake, but it was nice to walk around the walls and see a lovely super yacht one evening. Filled a bit of time before going for a nice evening meal.

We visited thecastle on a roasting July day. It costs 4 euros to get in and you can spend several hours exploring the many toppled remains. It is rather haphazard and not a lot of info to tell you what it's all about so you...More

Castles always sound as if they will be interesting to visit. This one looks pretty from the outside but there is not much more to see if you take the trouble to visit the interior. It does not have any what you might call 'museum...More

This is very interesting but can get very hot in the midday. Take a stroll amongst the tunnels in the walls, examine the ramparts overlooking the harbour. Imagine the defences on the walls to stop invaders. Really very good but be prepared and take some...More

Kos council has cleared debris in Kos town where major damage occurred an has barriers sound anything deemed to be a risk. Feels perfectly safe as they have shut off any attraction they believe needs restoration.

The castle is still closed and we were told yesterday it could be some time before it will be open again. Also it is not possible at present due to damage of the quay around the castle to walk around the complete outer wall. More

We stayed just a short walk from Kos Town and found everyone very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Lambi and the shops outside the centre of the town were less busy and cheaper.
