It is a historical tree, but actualy it is simply an old tree. Nobody even knows exactly how old the tree really is. There are a lot of tourists around making photos and lots of cats. (Just in case your a catfriend)

Hippocrates Tree is definitely worth the short walk to see and while you are there, the entrance to the castle is just near by. Its located in a pretty square surrounded by some shops and restaurants.

This historic setting is delightful, it is well worth a visit, and amazing to see that a tree so old is still very much alive

Quite difficult to find and it was a tree held up with metal work and not much explaining it. There was a box to put money in to support animals that needed rescuing and lots of cats.

Apparently the tree now standing here is descended fro the original tree that Hippocrates taught his students under. Surrounded by some interesting shops and cafes it's a very pleasant and fascinating way to pass on some time.

Nice place to stop for a moment during a walk around the city. The tree is very big and old. Around nice cafes to sit.

this makes you think of the past and also allows a bit of myths and legends as the trees are young growth now but fit into the history of when the castle of st john was bult
