This little museum is really remarkable, because it collect memories of a sad past when Chinese workers where exploited for the building of the Canadian Pacific railway and then abandoned to themselves at the end of the works.
It contains precious old photographs and artifacts from the 1880-1900 period.
This museum was born for the idea, the effort and the enterprise of local people of Lytton and for this reason is even more remarkable.
No payment fee, but donations are accepted.

Thank you for your review. We are hoping to collect and share the stories of the Chinese railway workers, miners and merchants. They are such an important part of our Canadian history.

What a great exhibit documenting the history of the Chinese in the Fraser Canyon area generally and Lytton specifically. It is obvious that a great deal of thought has gone in to sharing this important story with visitors and locals. The artifacts are interesting, as is the story of the Chinese population in the community and their important contributions.

If you have no idea how the railway was built and what impact it had on the builders, then stop for a short moment at this museum. It is a brutal and heroic story that must be told. The curator is still adding to the collection and is contemplating expanding the exhibit to another floor. However, even in its modest form, it offers the curious a great lesson.

This small museum documents the history of Chinese in this part of the Fraser canyon. Chinese were very much involved in the building of the railroad, as well as the gold rushes and settlement. An informative stop.
