My husband can bore for England on archaeological museums, and we have been in many. But this is really special. It covers a really extensive chronology, from stone age to late Roman, and it is particularly good on domestic items and the lives of women. Very, very accessible and completely fascinating.

We arrived in Este on Monday and had hoped to visit the castello, but it was unexpectedly (to us) closed following a festival. This is a small archeological museum w/ galleries on two floors. One floor is devoted to the Veneti people (think Etruscan era/pre-Roman) and the second focuses on the Roman era.
