Awe inspiring pictures right off the road
Jun. 2021 • Friends
If you’re able to get here with limited cloud cover you can get some amazing pictures here. This mountain and waterfall combo have to be one of the most photographed locations in Iceland and it makes sense why when you get there in person. It takes a short 3 minute walk to get to a great photo location and the parking lot is right off the main road.

Picturesque waterfall
Sep. 2020
Tiny but picturesque waterfall with a majestic mountain in the background. The waterfall is easily accessible from a parking lot.

A Must-Visit Mountain at Western Region
Jun. 2019
From the parking lot, you could already see how amazing Kirkjufell mountain is! I was pretty much mind-blown. You could admire a series of mini waterfall as you amble around it on the structured walkway. But of course, the star of the show is imperatively the mountain as the backdrop!

A wonderful waterfall, near the famous mountain
Jun. 2019
Wonderful view. The waterfall itself, compared to others in Iceland, may not make a great impression, but the location and proximity of the Kirkjufell mountain - this is it. It is the waterfall with an absolutely amazing scenery. Perfect place to take pictures of Kirkjufell mountain .
Can be cold and windy, but it is really pretty. The surrounding scenery makes that it's worth seeing. The parking is free.

Frozen but still running
Mar. 2020 • Couples
These waterfalls were a lovely surprise. They were frozen but you could see the water flowing through an icy cage. So spectacular. Be warned though it’s very very cold out there in March!

Famous Fall
Feb. 2020
We rented Airbnb right by Kirkjufell Mountain, so we stopped by the waterfall after we checked in. We read plenty of the article about how small it is, so our expectation was adequate. However, with the GOT mountain in the background and covered in snow, I can see why this fall attracts so many folks. I was bit surprised to see about 15 people or so taking pictures with tripods and expensive camera equipment even after the sunset. Those are hardcore enthusiast right there, and I hope their pictures came out better than mine...

Magical
Jan. 2020
Stopped as part of the Wonders of Snaefellsnes tour. The falls were frozen due to the bitter cold and we walked through snow drifts to take a look from below. Magical.

Stunning falls, but spoilt by man
Sep. 2019
Due to all the tourists, areas around the falls and paths leading up the falls have unsightly barriers to keep the tourists away from the edges of the falls and to keep them on the demarcated paths. Although not permanent features, these man made objects do spoil the natural beauty. Parking is free but limited and it is a very popular tourist stop.

Nice
Aug. 2019
It was really nice but there were some people around, which was strange after a couple of days exploring Iceland. I would not say it was crowded.
The waterfalls were magnificent!

well known waterfall
Oct. 2019
We came early in the morning to visit this waterfall but it was still loaded with tourists and photographers when we arrived. And we toured both sides of the waterfall up close and I wondered what all the fuss was all about. I guess with all the amazing waterfalls I had seen throughout the week I felt that this one just didn't quite measure up. It seemed a bit small and ordinary compared to the other magnificent waterfalls I've seen in Iceland and it was difficult to get a shot of it with all the crowds gathered around it. For this reason I'm comfortable just rating this waterfall with a TA 3 rating.
