- MarcyRH912Raleigh, North Carolina77 contributionsMagical experienceLucky to experience this magical place in the very low tourist season as part of an Overseas Adventure Tour. We were at the park when it opened and didn’t see any other visitors until we were concluding our couple hour hike over and around the multiple cascading waterfalls. And there were cats who greeted us and followed us for a good part of our outing-an extra plus😊. Very glad to be there at this time of year and not the crowded and hot summer.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten December 8, 2023
- tinaNtravelSan Jose, California2,122 contributionsAmazing waterfall and very beautiful boardwalk path above and around the waterfallThis is an amazing area and well worth the visit. We stayed the day at Krka after staying at Plitvice National Forest which is a whole other level of amazing. We decided to hike in to Krka from the trail off of the highway near Skradin. The hike to the falls is long and pretty along the river. We arrived at the bottom of the waterfalls where there is a restaurant along with kiosks selling ice cream, food, treats and souvenirs. From this area, you get an excellent full view of the falls. We then walked up the path to the top restaurant and followed the ‘Walk This Way’ signs. The first path (behind the gift shop) takes you to some little museums which are quite cute and interesting. The second path, a little further up, is a walk along a boardwalk into the forest with water all around the boardwalk. It is amazingly beautiful and should not to be missed. Along the path are many smaller waterfalls, wildflowers, plants and viewpoints of the main waterfall. When looking online at Krka you mostly see and think of the large waterfall which is indeed impressive, but this walkway was amazing and that made the whole area exceed expectations. I would definitely go back here again.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 18, 2024
- Mike SSt. Albans, United Kingdom330 contributionsWay too expensiveThis is a lovely place, but was it worth the 30 euros to get in? Not really. I have seen better in other part of the world free of charge. Given the number of people going in and the crowds on the board walks, someone is making a lot of money. Beautiful, yes, but not good value for money.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 7, 2024
- PeterNorthallerton, United Kingdom20 contributionsAmazing falls! 😁We had a right stroke of luck visiting Krka Waterfalls in Croatia on the one day they don’t allow swimming. At first, we were a bit miffed, thinking we’d missed out on some grand aquatic adventure. But, as it turns out, it was a blessing in disguise! Without the usual splashing about, the falls were like a private showing for us. I managed to snap what might be the most marvellous photo of my life—definitely not the sort of thing you get when you're dodging swimmers! The waterfalls looked splendid, the views were top-notch, and the whole scene felt like it was laid out just for us. So, if you end up there on a no-swim day, consider it a stroke of genius on nature’s part. You get all the beauty without any of the wet chaos—perfect for a spot of photography and a jolly good time!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 29, 2024

Worth to spend a day there if you enjoy nature. From waterfall, trekking, boat excursion, dipping into fresh water, religious exploration, history learning. It’s all you have there. Recommend to pay extra 130kn for the #2 boat excursion taking you to the Visovac Island where you have free time for 30mins and Roski Slap area for about 1.5hour

Mixed experience, nit because the park is not beautiful, but there were a few things that really need to be improved the information
1. If you are not great with stairs, do not go to the Skradin entrance, there are hundreds. I tried to take my mum through to the boat to visovac and roski slap, it was a nightmare. Go to the lozovac entrance
2. Although the lady at the skradin entrance information was very helpful, it seemed that even she didn't know that the last boat to Roski slap was at 1pm, disappointing as it changes dualy apparently and we couldn't get there
3. The last boat back from ksradin is 2 hours after the last bus from skradin or lozovac to sibenik.
4. Signposting is pretty poor throughout
5. The first bus from Sibenik to skradin I mid-September is 11:15, you have 15 minutes to reach the ferry, which we just made - no signposting, but Google was roughly accurate.
In conclusion, you need to research thoroughly if not travelling by car, probably go to lozovac for the Roski slap boat (much closer), or if mobility impaired, and don't assume you will be able to get back to wherever you came from without looking at the specific return bus times (there is also a big gap between return buses from the main bus stations)
The waterfalls are lovely, but it was a rather expensive day out for what ended up being a necessarily curtailed excursion.

After a wonderful 4 hour experience at Plitvice Lakes National Park, several days before, the Krka was an overpriced disappointment 😥 We were looking to trail walk after the initial boat to the Buk however the 94 page PDF we downloaded from the website seemed to have everything except the trail maps outside of the key tourist Buk, Falls, Monastery, etc. We arrived in time to go to the park tourist office but no trail maps. After we visited the Buk we found out the only way to the falls was either by boat (at extra charge of 15 euro, after paying 40 euro to enter) or a 5 hour hike. At every turn you seemed there was a need to dip into your pocket, from high entry fee, to toilet entry, to boat travel, to parking, etc.

I would highly recommend going early in the morning before it gets too hot and crowded. We drove to Skradin and got the first boat at 8am. Lovely boat ride, then short walk to the Skradin waterfall. My husband got a picture of me on the bridge on my own, with noone else there! Got busier as we walked round, and it was in the middle of a heatwave 🔥 Got the boat back at 11.30, lovely relaxing boat ride back to Skradin

It’s a shame they don’t tell you in advance that swimming is no longer allowed.
It’s still a magical place. You’re feeling that you are walking in the garden of eden.
I think that it’s still a must see for first timers and even might be worth the 200Kn/person but the crowds attracted by the place seriously hurt the experience you could have before 2021.

We went out of season (end of April) and honestly this was the highlight of our trip. We arrived around 11am, you get the option of either paying for the bus or walking. As we’re both 28 & 30 we thought were walk. BIG MISTAKE. Walking down was fine, apart from the walk being rocks/stones it was slippery in places but honestly the walk back up (very high incline) was tiring. I would advise everyone to get the bus, walking up incline in the heat and walking on wobbly stones was not a good combination. Generally thought I was going to faint.
Overall, lovely place to visit as we arrived at 11am we decided to do the 4 hour boat excursion to another two islands. Personally I found very worth while going to. You got to spend 30 minutes on one island and 1.5 on another. When we arrived back we then walked around the national park where it was fully boarded and being out of season there was no queues, we was able to walk around it in 40/50 minutes.
Most beautiful place ever visited. Highly recommend going out of season as it’s beautiful without all the hassle of others.

I visited 15 years ago, out of tourist season, and have fond memories of the boardwalks, views and paddling in the waterfall at the end. The waterfalls are still as stunning as I remembered but it's a lot busier, very expensive for 200KN and then they charge for the toilets! Food and drink is crazy prices so def pack a picnic. Taking the boat from Skradin was worth it. Visit the NP office near the waterfront and public parking and buy boat tickets 10KN each way (plus your entry 200KN). We hoped to swim in the waterfall and understand why they're stopped it but felt a little disappointed as on their leaflet and website there was no mention that swimming is no longer allowed.

Gorgeous nature, beautiful waterfalls, all worth 5 stars.
But it is now forbidden to swim anywhere, despite a super hot day.
We also find it really too expensive to visit a two km walk for 200 kunas per person.

One of many Croatian nature beauties, but quite impressive one. Whole park is over 70km long, but most visited and most beautifull is Skradinski buk. You can walk around it and see marvelous waterfalls from different points. If you enter in Lozovac, you will have free boat ride untill Skradinski buk. There you can eat, drink coffee, see cultural heritage.
It is not 5 stars because of obscure directons about swimming, boat lines (even staff does not know who drives where and when) and prices. Boat ride to Visovac was expensive taking into consideration it is so close you could swim there.

It cost me 25 euros to park in Skradin, then they wanted to charge 30 euros per person entrance fee to the national park to walk 4 km to the waterfall. Although you can buy a multiple entrance ticket to the national park for a larger fortune.
I appreciate that these attractions need upkeep and don't mind paying a reasonable amount, but this is daylight robbery.
I questioned people coming out and they said the waterfalls were very beautiful, but very touristic, i.e. packed.
The chap at the parking told us to buy drinks and snacks in the supermarket in the town because it would be expensive at the waterfall.
I hate to think how much it would have cost to get the boat.
My honest opinion - it's a rip off!
National park entrance fees in Montenegro were 3 euros per person.

Do you have to do a tour to visit the waterfalls or can you just turn up and walk around at your own leisure? Can you swim there and is there lots of walking involved?
Written August 8, 2022
Hi, We did not join a tour, but we did take the boat from Skradin to the falls. You can also rent a bike at Skradin, and I think it is a nice bikeride if you are average fit and up for it in the heat. You can no longer swim at the falls. We where disapionted about that , but Skradin has a nice beach. I also recomend to avoid the crowds. Early arrival or late - as we did. With normal walking pase the trip around the falls will take 30 to 45 minutes I think.

Ciao a tutti!
Grazie

Hi! Can we use the baby stroller on the educational trail around the Skradinski Buk waterfall (1900 m)? It is suitable for a five years old child by walk?
To reach the area with restaurant and souvenir shop, we have to take some trail?
We want to reach the Krka monastery (Kistanje) by car, maybe after the visit to the Skradinski Buk waterfall. It Is necessary to buy a specific ticket? Can we find the ticket office near to the monastery or in another park's area? It is possible to visit only the monastery?
Thank You!
Written July 22, 2019
Hi! You can use baby stroller without problems, I think that your son could walk with you too. The souvenir and restaurant area is closed or the park and ticket office. From this point to the trail you can use the bus.
I didn’t visit the monastery, I can’t reply to those questions...
I hope my reply is useful for you. I wish you a nice visit

What is the best way from Zadar to Krka National Park? I have not much luck for the last few days and seemed to get lost quite often.
Written October 24, 2018
We stayed at Apartment Slavica - family owned business - lovely people. This is at Lozavac which is close to three entrances to the park. Where you are at Zadar is about an hours drive away. Take the 424 to Zumunik and then exit at E65 towards Split/Sibenik. The driving is easy and directions good.

We had a rented car and used google maps on the phone as already suggested , we took a no toll route on the way there for a more scenic drive, we parked at side of road car park and walked through Skradin upto the river, really nice cafe up there called Niko’s

Hi we are in Trogir in a couple of weeks and wondered how far is the park from Trogir?
Thanks in advance
Written June 29, 2018
Hi. It is 58 km from Trogir by car . You take road E 65 from Trogir to Lozovac ( entrance to the Krka park). If you wish to go by bus you can take a day tour from Split that is 31 km from Trogir. From Split till Lozovac ( Krka) you have 87 km.
I wish you a nice visit to Krka waterfalls.
Max.
